You can login or register using an existing identity to access all the features of the Materials Project.
Note: this will redirect you to an external provider at http://materialsproject.rpxnow.com to validate your credentials.
What if I don't have an account with one of the providers listed above?
The Materials Project currently only allows authentication from one of the many external OpenID providers. We understand that many users may not want or are unable to access OpenID providers of a social or commercial nature such as Facebook, Google, or Yahoo. For these users, we provide a fourth option to use a generic OpenID account. You can create such an account using more business-oriented providers such as Verisign and myOpenID. For a listing of common providers, including options that should be suitable for most industrial and commercial users, please see Get an OpenID.
Why can't I create an account just for the Materials Project, without OpenID?
Many users find that using an existing OpenID account simplifies the registration process and saves them from having to manage an additional internet account. Using external authentication also helps our small development team focus on improving Materials Project features instead of managing and securing user accounts.
