How can I login using OpenID?

You can login with either an OpenId.net account or your Google or Yahoo account. All these OpenID providers are free to sign up.

What if I don't want to use Google or Yahoo for logging in?

You can also create your own openID from https://www.myopenid.com/

My login from MyOpenID won't work.

MyOpenID seems to require your email in 2 separate locations. Login to MyOpenID, and go to https://www.myopenid.com/settings

You'll need to set your email in 2 separate locations:

  1. Your Account->Email Settings. You'll need to make sure your email address is confirmed Email1.png
  2. Your Account->Registration Persona. You'll need to make sure your email address is set correctly here Email2.png

How will you use my information?

The Materials Project is a free, open, and collaborative project, the way we believe research should be done. We have no business interests; any information you provide will never be sold to a third party. The sole purpose of your email is for contact and support purposes, for collaborations that you voluntarily enter into, for tracking usage internally to improve the site experience, and for reporting aggregate, non-personal data (e.g., to funding agencies). It also serves as a unique identifier for us to allocate appropriate privileges.
